DR. ROBERT GOLTRA III

VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS

ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY

Dr. Robert Goltra III has a well-rounded, 25-year background in education that includes experience as a K-20 instructor, a K-20 administrator, and specialized training in the areas of student retention, student services, and student success. Robert's experiences in managing student service projects range from designing and implementing student enrollment and retention plans to developing and leading million-dollar student services grants and supervising many department personnel in highly accountable academic environments (e.g., admissions, advising, campus police, career services, financial aid, resident life, student conduct, student success and tutoring, testing centers, Title IX compliance, and TRiO). Of the many areas he has led, his partnership with TRIO programs is among his most treasured. He believes that due to the servant attitudes of TRiO professionals and the hands-on approach to meeting students' needs, students who are engaged in TRiO are well prepared as they transition to further their education and enter the workforce.  While studying to become an educator, Dr. Goltra was also a successful student-athlete. The "life lessons" he learned on and off the field serve as a framework for messages he shares with the college students and university staff he currently leads as a Vice President for Student Affairs at Rogers State University. As a student-athlete, he was named an Academic and Associated Press All-American, served as Team Captain of a top-five college football program, and played for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.
